Madewell is an online clothing shop that also has select stores around the country including New York City. I love how so many accessories are displayed at different levels in a shelving unit that works smoothly with the rest of the items in the window. The sign on the window lights up which makes it stand out and be different than other windows next to it. There is a plant separating the accessories from the mannequins in the window which creates contrast. This was one of my favorite window displays that I saw while walking on the streets of NYC!

rue21 is a clothing store in Eastland Mall in Bloomington, Illinois. This was a very large window which had dark lighting and several mannequins and signage displayed in it. How the mannequins were placed represented balance and the visual weight in the window was evenly distributed while still showing contrast. Dress were the main focal point of this display and darker colors were mostly shown. There was not a theme displayed it just seemed like cute outfits were supposed to be the main feature. The signage does not block the entire window so people passing by can still take a peak inside the store and then want to stop in.

While at Eastland Mall in Bloomington, Illinois I checked out Express’s window display. Express did not have a very large window to work with but they were still able to fill up the space to where it did not look too overwhelming. The window is displaying workwear in the form of a traditional outfit with pants and a colorful dress with stripes. The signage helps to draw customers into the store by showing what is new and trending and what sale is happening right now. Express has several on trend pieces for sporting at work!

Buckle is a clothing store located in Eastland Mall in Bloomington, Illinois. Unity was achieved by the colors in the display whether it be the clothes or the shoes. The shoes displayed demonstrate rhythm and the window as a whole represents unity. There is emphasis on the bottom of the display with the different shoes on cinderblocks and at different levels. The banner in the back is representing proportion and emphasize the size of the window. Buckle’s window does a great job of bringing different elements in so they all contrast together to catch the eye of a shopper passing by so that they may want to stop in and see what else is inside.

H&M is located inside Eastland Mall in Bloomington, Illinois. H&M is usually the first store I go in whenever I stop at the mall and the display really caught my eye this time. I liked that for the background there was just one single picture which coordinated well with the mannequins in the front of the window. The mannequins look like they are a part of a runway collection so all of the outfits flow together creating cohesive looks. One of the mannequins is positioned in a different way than the rest which creates contrast. H&M’s windows are always some of my favorites and this one was no different!

Justice is a girls’ clothing store located in Eastland Mall. There was a good amount of signage in the window that was a little overpowering at times because the window was not that large. The outfits styled are portraying cute athleisure wear on two different mannequins.

Beyond Normal is a shop that has a ton of home and seasonal décor for every occasion and shopper! This store is located at 112 W North Street in Uptown Normal. This window display shows a good amount of their merchandise without being too overwhelming. The window is showing serious rustic vibes while all being super cute! This window is very welcoming and has a homey feel! The window includes succulents and an old timey clock that help with the rustic theme. This shop looks lovely on the outside and is even better on the inside!!

Sugar Mama Bakery is staple in Uptown Normal! Trust me because I have had a cupcake form here and they are AMAZING!! This adorable little bakery is located at 116 W North Street in Normal. Their window display is actually one of my favorites in Uptown because it is wintery themed and so charming! They have cupcakes displayed in little rustic wooden boxes and also have snowflakes displaying cupcakes as well. The wintery theme isn’t overwhelming but is just the right amount for this window. There are also some greens in the window which helps to pull the look together. This window display is so darling and would make any person want to stop in and check it out!

Apricot Lane Boutique is seriously the best little store in Uptown Normal! This shop is located at 206 W North Street in Normal. They carry the trendiest pieces and this is one of the reasons why college girls live this store so much! From the winder you can see that there is a chandelier hanging and they have all of their newest pieces towards the front of the store. There are two mannequins with styled outfits on and this really shows what the store is all about. There cute white pompoms hanging in the window as well which is a fun aspect to a window display! This store is so welcoming on the outside and you can see that from the window display. I will be going back soon because I never leave empty handed!

This adorable store is called Whimsy and is located at 112 East Beaufort Street in Uptown Normal! The cute exterior draws you in to see all what they have to offer on the inside. The pretty lace curtain on the outside gives off vintage vibes and goes along with the name whimsy! The windows aren’t very large to create big displays but the fact that you can see they have clothing is very inviting. One mannequin is at the window in an outfit and this was a perfect thing to do with the amount of space they were working with. Also, in the window shoppers can see the chandelier and the old school beams in the store which all work together to create an inviting atmosphere.
